A NOTE OF SUNSHINE IN COVID TIMES

The ongoing Covid pandemic is spelling both doom and gloom in the world.

FOR ME, IT HAS BEEN A RECOKING OF SORTS!

A BLESSING: Of all things else, this period has been a blessing too for me and my family. We relocated to a new city and to a new dwelling. We were stranded at our relatives for some time. But for the pandemic, we wouldn’t have spent a highly interactive and quality time with them.

LEARNING A NEW SCIENCE OF MANAGEMENT: Once we moved in to our abode, stepping out (owing to the risk of infection) was a luxury we couldn’t afford. But balancing the needs of our existence (food and lifestyle requirements) demanded prudent solutions. I wouldn’t admit myself to be profligate but the situation required frugality. The art and science of managing with less resources would not have been otherwise deciphered. Right from setting up the household ranging from small engineering skills to propagating spider plants in 4 pots (to fill the balcony) was unimaginable earlier!

It made me believe that a human mind when constrained will always yield the best possible outcomes.

SURPRISING OUTCOMES: My strength and resilience (both physical and mental) were tested with surprising outcomes. A lot more aspects of life like the joy from relationships, health and reading gained a profound sense. I am happy to have picked a few sensible goals and breaking them into habits came along the way.

As a family we are enduring this new normal together and trying to be empathetic towards the loss around. We are trying hard to maintain a positive mental health amidst the chaos and continuing to rediscover our authentic self.
